HOW TO GET THERE

Make the journey as memorable as the arrival. Your dedicated concierge can arrange transportation from the closest airport or train station to your Florence home.

  • By car The easiest way to get in and out of Florence is via the A-1 Autostrada which connects you to Milan, Bologna and the north. From Pisa, the easiest route to and from Florence is the A-11. The roads are wide and well maintained but note that driving inside the old walled quarter of the city is prohibited, and parking can be challenging, especially during the summer. Leave your car at your Florence vacation rental and hop into one of the city’s many taxis instead.
  • By plane Florence has its own airport, the Amerigo Vespucci International Airport. Connections from here to the centre of the city take around 20-30 minutes. Alternatively, you can arrive at Pisa Airport. Your dedicated concierge can arrange a VIP transfer to your home in Florence on arrival, or organise a hire car to be waiting for you at the airport.
  • By train Italy’s rail network is superb and is a wonderful way to see the Tuscan countryside as you arrive in Florence. You’ll find rail connections from the airport are fast and efficient and links to other cities, such as Paris, Munich and Vienna, are frequent and an enjoyable way to travel across Europe.

LOCAL TIPS

  • Florence is best explored on foot, the historic centre of the city is pretty compact, so everything can be reached in 20 minutes or less.
  • It’s good to note that the Uffizi and the Accademia Gallery are closed on Mondays, but the Duomo, the Cathedral Opera Museum and Palazzo Vecchio remain open.
  • Tuscany is one of the most beautiful parts of Italy and its vineyards produce some of the best wines in the world - we highly suggest a wine tasting experience in this region.
