Toscana

Toscana

Cannes, Cannes area

10 people ∙ 5 bedrooms ∙ 5 bathrooms

Nestled in the Provence countryside and close to the thriving centre of Cannes is Toscana, a five-bedroom villa that welcomes up to ten guests. Set in a 70-acre private estate as part of the exquisite Domaine de St Jean complex, Toscana represents the finest in French hospitality, with opulent interiors and every amenity guests could wish for. Provence is a gastronome's delight. It has a distinctive cuisine (olives, seafood and fresh herbs play a central role in many dishes), with many restaurants offering a more formal experience at a slower pace- and with summer evenings like this, you'll want to savour every moment. The wines can be lighter and more fragrant than the richer, fuller wines of northern France, so expect delectable rosés with delicately floral bouquets that complement the region’s speciality fish dishes. Provence caters to all your senses and is the centre of the perfume industry. Drive through the area during the summer, and savour the scents of purple lavender fields, the sweet flowers and fragrant Mediterranean herbs. Toscana embraces the natural beauty of this heavenly region and enhances it with a villa that's furnished in a traditional Gallic style. Comfortable living areas with classic French furniture merge seamlessly with an elegant formal dining room and a wonderfully authentic kitchen, complete with a signature marble-topped island and the latest high-end appliances. An outdoor living area is sumptuously designed for a more relaxed evening with large sofas lit by vintage lamps hanging from original wooden beams. The villa's five bedrooms are richly decorated in warm, inviting tones that create restful retreats. On the upper floor you'll find the refined king-size master suite with its own private sitting room, office area, terrace access, and a spa-standard ensuite. The remaining four bedrooms are located on the ground floor, with two king-size bedrooms and two split-kings that can be converted into twin beds for greater flexibility. The vast outdoor area has a spectacular manicured lawn and a heated swimming pool. As part of the estate, guests have access to a spa, helipad, pétanque court and 4km of fitness trails. The villa also boasts an al fresco dining area for evening meals under the stars. With breathtaking views across the rolling Provence countryside, Toscana is a sunny, secluded hideaway that captures the very essence of French living.

Allegria

Allegria

Cannes, Cannes area

14 people ∙ 7 bedrooms ∙ 7 bathrooms

Far from the hustle and bustle of glamorous Cannes sits the utterly charming Allegria. Surrounded by rolling countryside, this seven-bedroom villa welcomes up to 14 guests with classic French interiors and tranquil gardens filled with birdsong and the scent of thyme and lavender. The single-storey villa utilises traditional features and accents them with elegant furnishings and high quality amenities to create an enchanting haven in the hills of Mandelieu. Mandelieu-la-Napoule is a historic town on the Côte d'Azur that has captured the essence of Provençal life. It's known for its 4th-century Roman tower and picturesque cobbled streets tumbling down the hillsides to the harbour below. That quintessential Riviera atmosphere has made it a magnet for artists and painters looking to capture this medieval French port's unique golden light and character. Today, it's a highly desirable destination with a more laid-back atmosphere than nearby Cannes, yet still offers boutique shopping, gourmet restaurants and sophisticated nightlife with that typically Gallic joie de vivre. Allegria nestles in an inspiring 70-acre estate, guaranteeing guests total privacy. The interior is informal yet accented with regal French furniture complemented by more modern pieces. The formal dining room is intimate and cosy, but for those balmy summer evenings, a relaxed outdoor dining room can seat up to 20 guests for informal get-togethers. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to indulge in the Provençal classics, including several ovens and a steakhouse. Stock up on delicious ingredients at one of the many nearby markets and try your hand at a tasty daube stew or pissaladière flatbread - both local specialities. The seven beautiful bedrooms are divided between the main villa and the guest cottage. Five of the bedrooms are located in the main house, three with king-size beds, one with a queen-size bed and the final bedroom boasting two single beds. The remaining two king-size bedrooms can be found in a separate cottage - ideal for any guests who would like a little more privacy. This opulent villa has a superb selection of exterior features, ranging from a pétanque court and 4km of fitness trails to a heated swimming pool and even your own helipad. With acres of exclusive parkland to explore, Allegria offers all the delights of rural French living but with all the nuances and bespoke extras of a sumptuous private estate.

The two-kilometre-long promenade is fringed by dozens of exquisite buildings, including grand Cannes mansions housing glitzy casinos and elegant designer boutiques.

Most of our sumptuous villas in Cannes place you within easy distance of its shimmering coastline. HOW TO GET THERE

Make the journey as memorable as the arrival. Your dedicated concierge can arrange transportation from the closest airport or train station to your Cannes villa.

  • By plane Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is less than an hour from Cannes and offers both charter routes and private jet facilities. Once you arrive, you can either hop on the direct train to Cannes or have your concierge arrange a VIP car transfer to your luxury Cannes rental villa. There is also the option of arriving at the smaller Cannes-Mandelieu Airport. It lies just west of the city and is mainly served by private flights.
  • By train Train travel to and from Cannes is popular and a lovely way to soak up the French Riviera’s spectacular landscapes. Cannes has a high-speed, direct rail link to Marseille. From there, it’s possible to journey onwards to numerous European cities, including Paris, London, Milan and Brussels.
  • By boat Thanks to Cannes’ Old Harbour and the sparkling new Pierre Canto Port, arriving by boat is a definite possibility. The town’s shores are dotted with superyachts in the summer months, so why not ask your concierge about arranging a charter? There are also direct ferry routes between Nice and Cannes or you can whizz along the coast in a private speedboat.
  • By car The French Riviera has a well-maintained road network and some very scenic routes, making it a popular place to drive. Nevertheless, it can get busy around its major cities (including Cannes in peak season), so you may want to arrange car hire for just a few days instead of your entire trip.

LOCAL TIPS

  • Those visiting Cannes in the summer should be aware of national holidays that fall on the 14th of July and August 15th, during these times the region tends to be crowded, sometimes with festivals taking place.
  • If you are planning to visit during the Cannes film festival, be sure to book as far in advance as possible as everything fills up quickly.
  • Be sure to pack a pair of comfortable walking shoes as the Cannes city centre and promenade area is compact and every major attraction can be reached by foot.
