Highbury

Introducing Highbury

A little quieter than busy Islington and Angel, Highbury is still just a short trot along Upper Street from both. Nearby is the Union Chapel, named as one of London’s best live music venues, which donates all proceeds to the church’s work supporting homeless people. Wander down to Highbury Fields, or towards Canonbury, and you’ll find fresh produce at some of the city’s best independent butchers and fishmongers.

      Arsenal Stadium

The old home of the Gunners, this listed Art Deco arena with its still-remaining iconic East Stand now houses covetable flats – for a flavour of Arsenal mania, Nick Hornby’s novel Fever Pitch is unsurpassed.

      Grand townhouses..

..kept up by well-heeled residents who count journalists and politicians, including the current Mayor of London, among their ranks.

The left-field independent theatre performances at the King’s Head, Hen & Chickens and Old Red Lion, reinforcing this area’s tradition of fun-searching free thinking.
